This Cookie Policy explains how combochronicle.com uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage, pixels and software development kits (SDKs). They help a site work, remember your choices, understand how it is used, and support advertising. Cookies can be “first-party” (set by us) or “third-party” (set by our providers), and either “session” (deleted when you close the browser) or “persistent” (kept for a set period).
2. Categories we use
Necessary (always on)
These are required for the site to function and for your preferences to be remembered. For example, we store your cookie-banner choice in your browser's local storage so we don't ask again on every visit. These cannot be switched off through the banner. Typical duration: session to about 12 months.
Analytics (with consent)
These help us understand how visitors use the site — which reviews are read, how people arrive, and where things can be improved — usually in aggregated or pseudonymous form. Typical duration: up to about 24 months.
Advertising / Marketing (with consent)
These are set by advertising partners to show and measure ads, limit how often you see the same ad, and gauge the performance of labelled promotions and referral links. They may involve advertising identifiers. Typical duration: up to about 13 months.
3. Web-push notifications
If you opt in to browser notifications, our provider OneSignal stores a small identifier and technical data on your device to deliver those notifications. This is used only to send the updates you asked for and is described further in our Privacy Policy. You can withdraw at any time (see below).
4. How to manage or disable cookies
- On this site: use the cookie banner to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your choice is saved for future visits.
- In your browser: most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the site works.
- Notifications: turn off web-push at any time in your browser's site settings, or contact us to be removed.
5. Consent
Where required, we ask for your consent before setting analytics and advertising cookies, in line with Canada's PIPEDA. Necessary cookies are used on the basis of our legitimate need to operate the site. You can change your mind at any time by clearing the choice stored by the banner and reloading the page, or by adjusting your browser settings.
